And maybe you can prevent a lot of people from being hurt, but the fact of the matter is, you don't have to. As bad as we feel, we do have to face it; Everyone else's problems and there's nothing you have to do about it. Sometimes you just have to do what's best for yourself regardless of how it effects anyone else. As long as you know that what you want to do isn't wrong, then your first priority is to do it.

We're only given one chance to be alive right? One chance in this life. So do the best you can with others, and do the best for yourself. Ultimately, every thing else works itself out.
